Take A Little Ride with Jersey!!!

Jersey loves car rides.  Which is a good thing since he goes everywhere with me that he possibly can!  He knows when we are almost home, almost to Aunt KT's house and almost to Aaron's house.  He's a goof!  Enjoy a few pictures of him in the car!

Pumpkin Pancakes

I will start this off with the statement...I do not like pumpkin. Or cinnamon.

My family likes pumpkin and cinnamon.  My brother wanted to go to Ihop yesterday for pumpkin pancakes.  However, my brother had surgery on Monday so him going to Ihop was not a good idea.  I volunteered to make him pumpkin pancakes last night.

Here are some pictures of the event:

Gross!  But apparently you need this for pumpkin pancakes

I would like to thank my Poppa for my mad pancake skills!!!!

Pumpkin Carving

As I have mentioned before I. LOVE. OCTOBER.

The biggest reason is my birthday.  But I also love fall in general.  And I really love carving pumpkins.

I very rarely have enough patience to carve my own pumpkin into something super cool.  But I still love it.  I love scooping the seeds and guts out.  I love roasting the seeds.  I love figuring out what to carve.

My parents were out of town last weekend and the brother had to work Saturday so Aaron and I decided to spend the afternoon with KT.  We took her to the pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins and then went back to Mom and Dad's to carve said pumpkins.

I'm really bad about taking picture during activities but I did get some pictures of our pumpkins!

Here are our pumpkins from Saturday:

In order:  Aaron's Frankenstein, Becky's Eek, and KT's Smiley Face.

KT's isn't carved but she did pound pegs into it.  The pegs light up when the candle is lit like a Lite Brite.  She thought it was pretty cool.  And I liked it because typically I have to carve KT's pumpkin before mine.

Also, I need to share this conversation between Aaron and myself.  Before we went to pick up KT Aaron said that he had never carved pumpkins.  So while we were carving pumpkins I said "I can't believe you never had girlfriends that wanted you to carve pumpkins."  His response was "What's saying I didn't?"  I chose to leave the conversation there.  But on our way home this conversation took place:

Aaron:  You never asked why I didn't carve pumpkins with any of my ex-girlfriends
Becky:  Well, I didn't think I would want to hear the answer
Aaron:  You don't want to know at all?
Becky:  Fine.  Why didn't you carve pumpkins with any of your ex-girlfriends?
Aaron:  Because they didn't have KT
I know cheesy but sometimes you need a little cheese in your life!

On Sunday, Aaron decided he would like to carve another pumpkin (he's sort of obsessed).  So, we headed to the pumpkin patch again and picked out 2 more pumpkins.  I let KT pick what I carved.  Aaron decided to be sort of fancy with his jack o lantern but KT picked Yoshi.  Here are pictures of those:

Last night, Aaron said we should carve more pumpkins this weekend.  We'll see what happens!  It's going to be a great weekend...Poppa and Grammy are coming down!

All Because Two People Fell In Love

I had an idea for this post quite awhile ago just because I love this song:

I had recently heard the song on the radio and thought "Wow, Becky, that would be a really great blog post.  I drafted (really, I wrote the title and Blogger considered that to be a draft) the post but I never posted it.  I never finished for one reason or another but that's ok because now this post is going to be even more fabulous because it is now linked to my Poppa and family!

Our whole family went to the Black Hills for Labor Day weekend to celebrate Poppa and Grammy turning 80 this year.  It was a great weekend filled with laughter and great times spent with family that we don't get to see all that often since we are all spread out all over the country.

Anyway, the last night we were there we had to take some family pictures (just like every trip).  We did the normal individual family shots:
We are a pretty good lookin' family!

Then, we had to do the line up picture of the cousins by age:

We go from 28 (me) to 13

Then, it was time for the wretched picture by height:

This one has a few additional cousins

But, then it was time for our entire family picture:

You're probably thinking to yourself, these are really great pictures Becky but what does this have to do with two people falling in love?

Well, I'm getting there.   Be patient!

Like I said, we did these pictures the night before everyone left.  The next morning we were set to head out around 7 or something crazy like that, but before we left we talked to Poppa and Grammy for a little while.  Poppa made this remark to Grammy, "That was quite a brood we had up on those steps last night.  And they are all our fault."  The conversation continued on with Poppa saying something along the lines of he would have never thought all those years ago when they got married that they would be responsible for that many people.

I do love those old people!  And thank God everyday that they fell in love!

And just for fun here is a picture of me and the Abby's (yes, there are two...Abby and the Other Abby, who happens to be marrying Abby's brother) wine tasting while in South Dakota:
What vacation would be complete without wine tasting?
